"This is an excellent book and deserves a place on the bookshelf of any specialist interested in herptile medicine. But is it worth the price tag for the generalist? There are other good books out there, such as the two editions of Mader’s previous reptile medicine and surgery book, and, possibly, the British Small Animal Veterinary Association’s Manual of Reptiles, to name a few; however, none of these are as up to date on the specific topics covered, are as lavishly produced, nor do they have as comprehensive reviews on anaesthesia and analgesic protocols for herptiles. This is a great book for anyone interested in herptile medicine and surgery, worth every penny and I am sure will go on to become a regular series." Reviewed by: Jonathan Cracknell. Date: 25/07/2014
